There are some basic shop safety principles you probably already know. To work in the shop, students must be wearing three things:
Read through the following GENERAL SAFETY guidelines handout in class before following the link to take the general safety quiz.
When you're ready, take the General Safety quiz.

There are some basic shop safety principles you probably already know. To work in the shop, students must be wearing three things:
- Safety Glasses: You need to protect your eyes! They are to be worn under welding helmets, during all project work to protect your eyes from accidents others may have as well as dust, slag and other objects.
- Appropriate Footwear: Shoes or boots should cover your whole foot and be made of a material that isn't flammable (leather, heavy plastic or rubber).
- Appropriate Clothing: In welding, you need all skin covered with coveralls or heavy work shirts. FR rated fabric is ideal, but not mandatory.

When you reach the website, look for the student login page. Use the login provided to take the general safety test WITHOUT NOTES. If you don't get a 100%, study the ones you've missed and retake the test until you master it at 100%

Welding Processes:
Click on the buttons below for specific assignments for each of the welding processes. For each unit, you'll take a process specific safety test, complete vocabulary, pass a basic knowledge test and then complete the practicums on your shop record card.
